FAQ

Real questions, real answers.

Everything we get asked before someone clicks Reserve. If something's not here, just email us.

Booking & Payment
How do I reserve my space?+

Click the Reserve button on the trip page and pay your 25% deposit. Once that hits, we'll reach out to welcome you, walk through what happens next, and answer anything that's on your mind. The welcome call is completely optional, but we highly recommend it. It's how you get to know us and we get to know you. By the time the trip rolls around, you're not showing up to a stranger's event. You're showing up to ours.

What's the deposit?+

25% of the trip price, paid at booking. Another 25% is due 60 days before departure. The remaining 50% is due 30 days out. If you'd rather pay in full from the start, that works too. Whatever's easier on your end.

What's your cancellation policy?+

It depends on when you cancel. 90+ days out, full refund. Between 60 and 90 days, you forfeit the 25% deposit. Between 30 and 60 days, you forfeit the deposit and the second 25% payment. Inside 30 days, no refund. The reason it tightens up close to departure is simple. Once payments come due, hotels are paid, vendors and guides are locked in. They don't refund us, so we can't refund you. This is also why we recommend travel insurance.

Should I get travel insurance?+

Yes. We strongly recommend it. International trips have moving parts and life happens. Travel insurance covers the things we can't... a flight cancellation that ripples into missing a day of the trip, a medical situation abroad, a family emergency back home. It's the kind of thing you hope you never use, but you're glad you have when you need it.

The Trip Experience
What if I'm traveling solo?+

Solo travelers are very welcome. Couples and friend groups too, but solo is the most common way people show up to these trips. And here's the part worth knowing... they always leave with friends. The trip is built so nobody feels like the odd one out. Group dinners, shared experiences, and the kind of small group size where you actually get to know people. By Sunday, the room feels like a group of friends who've known each other for years.

What's the age range?+

Typically 30 to 50. Mature, no drama, but still with a youthful spirit. These trips attract grown folks who travel well, hold a conversation, and know how to enjoy themselves without making it weird.

How big are the groups?+

Trip dependent, but typically 12 to 15. Big enough that the energy is real and you've got options for who to spend time with. Small enough that you're never lost in a crowd, the table at dinner stays one conversation, and the trip stays curated instead of corralled.

Will I have my own room?+

Yes. Standard pricing assumes single occupancy. Everybody gets their own room. If you're traveling with a partner or a friend and want to share, just let us know when you book.

What's typically included?+

Hotel, transportation, group experiences, and a good amount of meals and drinks. Flights are never included. We recommend bringing spending money for open exploration... the lunch you grab between activities, the bottle of wine you want with dinner, the souvenir you didn't plan on. The trip page for each destination breaks out exactly what's covered.

What about dietary restrictions?+

We've handled vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies, and a few combinations of all of the above. The key is letting us know in advance. Once we know, we work it into the planning... restaurant picks, the welcome dinner, the group experiences. The earlier you tell us, the smoother it is.

Logistics
Do I need to book my own flights?+

Flights are never included in the trip price, but you don't have to book them alone. We're licensed travel agents, so if you'd rather have us handle it, we can. Same flight, same price you'd find online, but with someone in your corner if anything goes sideways at the airport. If you'd rather book yourself, that works too. We'll send a suggested arrival window so the group lands roughly together, and we're always happy to give a second set of eyes on an itinerary before you commit.

What if I want to extend the trip?+

Go for it. Plenty of people come a day or two early, stay a few days late, or both. Just tell us what you're thinking and we'll help where we can... booking extra nights at the same hotel, suggesting what to do with your extra time, pointing you to the neighborhoods we'd actually go to. The trip dates are the trip dates, but the destination is yours to explore however long you want.

What documents do I need?+

A valid passport is the baseline for every international trip. Make sure it's valid for at least six months past your return date... a lot of countries require that and it catches people off guard. Visa requirements depend on the destination and your nationality, so we send a personalized checklist after you book that walks through everything you need. If anything's borderline or unusual on your end, we'd rather know early than fix it last minute.

What happens after I book?+

Here's the rough timeline. The day you book, your spot is locked and we reach out to welcome you. From there, you'll hear from us at meaningful checkpoints... around six weeks out, we'll check in to see how you're feeling and answer anything that's come up. Around four weeks out, you'll get the full trip guide and an invite to the group chat where everyone in the group is hanging out and getting to know each other before the trip starts. Then the trip itself. The middle isn't a black box. We're around the whole way.

About Us
Who's running this?+

Walt and Telicia. We're a couple based in Charlotte, NC, with day jobs and a shared habit of planning trips that turn into stories. We're both licensed travel agents... Walt is the longtime traveler with the producer's eye, Telicia is the analytical chemist catching the details everyone else misses. We started this after a 2025 trip to Prague with friends from different chapters of life turned into one of the best weeks any of us had had in years. We figured if we could bottle that vibe up and open it to a larger crowd, we should.

More on the about page.

Are you a tour company?+

Not really. Tour companies move thirty strangers through a packed schedule on a bus. We do the opposite. Twelve to fifteen people, hand-picked stays, real food, time to breathe. Think of us less as tour operators and more as the friends who always plan the trip... except we plan it for a living and we've been doing it long enough to get the details right. The goal is for the trip to feel like a really good dinner party that happens to take place in another country.

How do you pick destinations?+

Places we know. Places where we have relationships with hotels, chefs, drivers, and locals. Places that reward depth... colonial neighborhoods, real food cities, coastal towns with character. We don't add a destination just to add it.

What if I have a question that isn't answered here?+
